The most important decision makers in the initial stages of the bankruptcy are Judge Martin Glenn and the SIPA liquidation Trustee James W. Giddens of the law firm of Hughes, Hubbard & Reed, LLP. We encourage CCC members and affiliates to contact them to communicate their support for the CCC mission.
Communicating to the Court and Judge Glenn
Judge Glenn is sympathetic to the problems that MF Global’s asset freeze is creating and has expressed his desire for a quick claims process and better representation of customers in the process. In short, the Judge is on our side. We encourage you to write to Judge Glenn and offer you support for the CCC. Please send your correspondence as follows:
We recommend sending letters to Judge Glenn via facsimile and priority overnight mail. Please reference the case as follows: MF Global, Inc., Debtor; Case No. 11-2790(MG)SIPA. Click here for an example of a properly formatted letter

Communicating with the Trustee
The Trustee has many years of experience overseeing the liquidation of securities firms, but little experience in the bankruptcy of futures commissions merchants. He intends to put securities and commodities customers through the same claims process, which the CCC believes is not in the best interest of customers. The CCC is aware that the Trustee is still dealing with the liquidation of Lehman Brothers and has made few distributions in the last three years. This is very concerning. The CCC is urging the Trustee to adopt our proposal for a fast, technology driven claims process which would distribute assets in a matter of days, not months. We encourage you to write to Trustee and offer you support for the CCC.
PLEASE NOTE: While we disagree with many of the Trustee’s actions and we understand your frustration with this process, please keep your correspondence respectful. Please send your correspondence as follows:
We recommend sending letters to the Trustee via email and facsimile or to phone the call center he has established for victims of MF Global’s bankruptcy.
